Maja Lamovšek
Dance education and work: Maja began to dance as a child at Plesna izba and the Dance Centre. After high school, she studied biopsychology and attended the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Later she graduated from contemporary dance, dance pedagogics and performance at the Academy of Contemporary Dance, Music and Drama in Linz (IDA Institute of Dance Arts). She was a member of Tovarishia Dance Company, and later she was employed as a dancer in Landestheater Linz. She collaborated with choreographers such as Jarek Cemerek, Evangelos Poulinas, Christina Mertzani, Bruno Genty and Regina Van Berkel. In 2018, she perfected limon technique and floorwork at the dance school ACTS (Paris). In Slovenia she worked with Gregor Luštek, Katarina Barbara Kavčič and Tina Valentan. She has been a resident artist at the Nagib Festival for several years and has made guest appearances with her projects on the Platform of Contemporary Dance. She is also one of the choreographers of the ŠIK-collective.
