Marko Urbanek

Dance education and work: Marko started dancing at the age of seven. He studied ballet, modern technique and contemporary dance; and has worked with many Slovenian and foreign choreographers. As a scholarship student of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, he attended the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD), where he graduated in modern dance, classical ballet and choreography. In 2011 he furthered his education with a degree in the program "Dance, choreography" at the Dance Academy in Ljubljana. Since January 2006, Marko is registered as self-employed in culture. As a dancer, choreographer, and author of videos and music has presented his works three times at the Salzburg festival of contemporary dance Sommerszene and had created several dance performances in Slovenia. In 2007 he took on the role of president of the Dance Centre in Maribor and art director of the professional contemporary dance company Tovarishia Dance Company.
